Clarewood
For this front yard enclosed by a rustic, ranch-style fence, the homeowner wanted the space to be more widely accessible for her young grandchildren to explore. A step-up path of natural bluestone pavers proved a pleasing solution, inviting visitors to stroll the entire length of the garden. New plantings of Lomandra ‘Platinum Beauty,’ Phormium ‘Jester,’ Grevillea ‘Mt. Tamboritha,’ and Loropetalum chinense complement existing succulents, a mature oak, and Japanese maple. Glazed ceramic pots in fun colors showcase thoughtfully curated plantings of Fatsia japonica, Farfugium gigantea, variegated gardenia, and ripple jade. New lighting was installed to illuminate the new path and spotlight the majestic oak and specimen maple from below. Now the garden can be enjoyed day and night.
